How To Maintain A Healthy pH Level In Your Body

The natural and healthy pH of the human body is slightly alkaline i.e., 7.36. Now, when the human body is fed acidic food like Chicken, Milk, Cheese, Yogurt, White Flour, White Sugar, White Pasta, Soft Drinks, Box Cereal, Ice-cream, Beef, Artificial Sweeteners, Wheat, Whole Wheat, Turkey, Butter, Corn, Egg, Peanut Butter etc – on a daily basis. This high consumption of “acidic food” creates an acidic environment (called acidosis) which is not favorable for the human body as it leads to an increase in acidity in the blood, cells and tissues of the body.

Due to our acidic food choices – disease causing microbes and bacteria thrive. To fight these formations, the human body has to prepare resources (which are taken away from other critical areas of the body like hair building) and set them towards the defense against these germs.

To balance the pH of the body, consumption of “alkaline food” is very essential. By alkalizing our bodies – we are creating an environment where diseases and bacteria cannot survive. Foods like Almond, Banana, Mango, Watermelon, Carrot, Grapes, Flax seeds, Green Tea, Lime, Lemon, Onion, Apple, Apricot, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Beet, Pear, Pineapple, Berries, Garlic, Spinach etc – these foods are alkaline in nature and when consumed more than the acidic foods, create an environment in the body which would encourage an internal and external holistic development of the human body.  The quickest way to alkalize the body is by consuming vegetable juice on a daily basis, the juice could be of Carrot, Cucumber, Spinach, Celery or a combination of vegetable juice according to an individual’s choice.

It is very important to understand that in every human body there is a balance between good and bad bacteria – to such an extent that the bacterial cells are more in number than the human cells, which is why it is extremely crucial that these bacterial cells are beneficial to our health. The bad bacteria is what we should be worried about and should be under control.

The main takeaway point here is that we must maximize our intake of net alkaline producing food and minimize acid producing food. Humans evolved from eating fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts, legumes, fish, meat that created the best conditions for the the human body and the enzymes to function. However, evolution of humans as brought a change in the consumption pattern – processed foods and pasteurized foods like grains and dairy (which are highly acidic) have caused the human body to go off balance and the enzymes start doing weird things like attacking the own body resulting in many external as well as internal ailments.
